John Martyn Memorial School grounds came alive this evening with the 32nd Founder’s Day celebrations. Our Managing Trustee Mr. Banerji and Headmaster of The Doon School lighted the ceremonial lamp. The school choir recited the welcome song and also an English song “Summer Holidays”. The school’s activities report was presented by the School captains. Dance on “Bhookh Lagi” and nursery rhymes were presented by the little ones of Nursery, KG. Classes I and II presented a dance on “Kanha so ja zara” Classes III and IV presented a Rajasthani dance “Saavan Laagyo”. “Raavan Kaun” was a skit enjoyed by all.Today’s programme was conceived by theatre artist Ms. Shefali Chopra Gandhi under whose guidance, artists Mr. Deepak Bhardwaj and Ms. Krishna Ghosh created the music and the dances.The programme much appreciated by all.
In addition to the Trustees, Founder Mady Martyn’s son Mr. Dilsher, grandson Shamsher, author Nayantara Sehgal. Dr. Dhirendra Sharma and other local dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
